This newsletter exists to spread the love of the Holy Spirit to readers each Tuesday morning.

I hope you enjoy this week’s reflection on the following scripture:

“God saved us and chose us to be his holy people. We did nothing to deserve this, but God planned it because he is so kind. Even before time began God planned for Christ Jesus to show kindness to us.” 2 Timothy 1.9(CEV)

My breath is a gift, for which I have done nothing to receive and owe no debt.

This is true for all of us. We are uniquely made. Yet, we are divinely connected alive only through the gift of creation.

Through grace, we are surrounded by a steadfast and reliable divine presence. Holiness is all around us and consistently calling us.

When I pay attention to this truth, I realize the glorious potential which resides inside of me. I am invited to fulfill my calling to live with gratitude and service to a higher purpose.

This is my holy work, which I can employ regardless of the task at hand or time and place. I can work for goodwill in my home, at the writing desk, throughout my neighborhood, and beyond.

Our holy work is something outside of a job, a career, or even a vocation. It is not a mission trip that we take or something that we turn on and off.

Our holy work is how we interact in this world. Through all the joys and the sorrows, the wins and the losses we can recognize our part of a divine plan and show up in service and with gratitude.

We can fight this truth. We can argue and seek evidence to the contrary. Yet, the truth remains.

Can you hear it too? This call for grace, which we cannot ignore.

It is written on our hearts, emphasized through our rituals, and expressed through our actions in the world.

Our holy work is to walk in faith, to look toward the light of love, to trust in the divine plan, and to do our part with gracious hearts.

We each have gifts that we can use. There are no special credentials needed to begin your holy work. You are already overflowing with love.

When we begin to employ our efforts in service to the greater good, we can begin to see how transformative it is. Through counting our blessings and living our faith, our hearts grow.

Prayer: Thank You God for breath that makes my life. Help me to use this gift for the Greater Good. Use my abundant resources to fuel my holy work as I traverse the hours of this day. Amen.
